Snafu

Computers.....aren't they wonderful ?! My new, month old computer...specially built for my artwork and not connected to the ol' 'tinterweb.... has sprung a leak ! Due to the mother(f**king)board developing a fault, I've had to send it back. 4-6 weeks they say. As a result I cannot upload any new images. Nor can I do any work.

Now I could get upset and rant and rave.....but it won't change anything so why waste the energy. Instead I plan to allow my mind to expand, return to painting and stand bravely on the prow as the titanic that is my bank account slips beneath the waves.

Watch this space.

Next month September, will see a couple of book signings taking place.

Wednesday 7 September I will be at The Greystones between 6.30- 8.30,  just before the Bob Log gig. I'll also be selling a limited edition (30) of the Bob Log posters. Even if you don't wish to see me, Bob is well worth catching. Check out the Greystones site http://www.mygreystones.co.uk/

On Wednesday 21 September, I'll be at the Frog and Parrot, Division St, Sheffield, from 7pm - late, with some special musical guests. My favourite city centre watering hole, it's always worth keeping an eye on for its weekly gigs featuring the best up and coming bands, as well as some established acts.

Throughout October, I will be showing work in The Forum, Division Street, Sheffield, and on Monday 3 October there will be a launch gig, where again I shall be selling and signing books. Sounds will be supplied by my great friends The Blackbirds, plus some special guests. 7pm - late.

Also in September look out for articles in both 'Toast' and 'Now Then'  magazines.

In the meantime heres an old article from last years Sheffield Telegraph

Bob Log III. Dressed in a  'human cannonball' jump-suit and a pilots helmet with a telephone receiver through which he communicates, Bob Log is not your ordinary singer /songwriter guitarist. He's a one-man guitar dance band.

The Magick Brothers. Psychedelic side project featuring Daevid Allen from the legendary Gong. Are you experienced ?

Typical. This gig has been cancelled.

Welcome back, my friends, to the song that never ends

duane eddyMy apologies to all of you who have been trying to get into this site. Due to a variety of disasters, things as always have been unavoidably delayed. As a result you will find a pretty sparse selection in the galleries at the moment. This will be rectified as soon as possible.

In the meantime its been a pretty hectic time of late.

For those of you who were there, the Duane Eddy gig at the Greystones in Sheffield was, in the words of the prophet, awesome. Backed by my good friend Richard Hawley and his band, it was truly a rare chance to see a real legend up close. Of the ltd run of 50, there are a very  few of the posters still available.

The 4 day festival event which was 'Music in the Gardens' was a huge success. The rain managed to hold off and everyone seemed to enjoy the variety of musical genres on display. From big band to jazz (courtesy of Courtney Pine no less), from Philharmonic orchestras to Sheffield's own son, Paul Carrack, the city's rotary clubs organised a top class event. Limited edition prints (only 200) of each of the 4 days, and an extra poster listing all 4 days, are still available.

foo fighters 4While all this was kicking off, an american combo by the name of The Foo Fighters were having a little bash down in Milton Keynes and I got to throw some designs together for their VIP backstage 'Foobar'. The band requested a Bikers bar type vibe. Here's the 'clubhouse' logo which formed a major backdrop. I'll be posting some photos as soon as possible.

So there we were once again at Tramlines, Sheffields hugely successful inner city festival. Even more acts and venues took part this year, so even if you didn't get to see the band you planned to, there were more than enough to compensate. I was in my city 'office', The Frog and Parrot, on Division St., throughout the 3 days (22 -24 july). With some of the best Sheffield acts around appearing there,I was selling a ltd run of posters for 20 of the individual gigs and copies of my new book 'STICK 'EM UP'

Featuring over 300 posters from the last 30 years, but mainly this century.... is it just me or did that sound weird?..... it's a bargain at a mere £14.95. From Sheffield to San Francisco and back again it includes posters for Patti Smith, Yoko Ono, Richard Hawley and the best of local bands.

There was also an impromtu exhibition, throughout Tramlines, of over 60 posters from a variety of gigs over the years on display in the City Hall's  foyer.
